Year 9 History Day: Interpretations of World War IIOn 24th April Year 9 spent the whole day off timetable in order to investigate interpretations of World War Two. Activities
included film interpretation, and film-making. Students made public
information films in the style of the 1940s Ministry of Information.
If I can work out how to do it, I shall try to post some on this site. Students also used Crazy Talk and Kar2ouche, two programmes that allow you to create animations, using photographs from the period of World War Two as a starting point and then manipulating them. Another group learned about rationing, air-raids and conditions on the Home Front. A final group, led by fellow students rather than any member of staff, re-interpreted the novel, The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, in a similar way to the study-day already posted on the site.
